A small piece of family history, deconstructed and transformed into something new.
These one-of-a-kind earrings were created from an antique glass bead necklace that belonged to my grandmother. Rather than leaving the necklace tucked away and unworn, I carefully deconstructed it, preserving its tiny, colorful glass beads and giving them an entirely new form.
The antique beads are individually arranged and suspended from hand-fabricated sterling silver posts, creating subtle movement and a playful contrast against the simplicity of the silver. Their variations in color, shape, and age are part of their history and part of what makes this pair impossible to reproduce exactly but will have similar beads/colors.
This is the heart of REMADE: honoring where an object has been without requiring it to remain what it once was.
