Our Mission - The Southwest Detroit Immigrant and Refugee Center (SWIRC) is built on a simple, powerful belief: Justice should not have a price tag.

Based in the heart of Southwest Detroit, we provide free and low-cost legal and social services to those who need them most. For many immigrants and refugees, the legal system is a complex, expensive barrier to safety and stability. We tear down that barrier. Whether it is fighting deportation, other legal issues, or helping families navigate the path to citizenship, SWIRC is there to ensure that our newest neighbors have a voice, a home, and a future.
