Ethos
"She is the original Wild Woman who lives beneath and yet on the topside of the earth. She lives in and through us and we are surrounded by her. The deserts, the woodlands, and the earth under our houses are two million years old and then some."
- Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Ph. D. Women Who Run With the Wolves p. 33
Welcome to La Loba Jewelry, where artistry and empowerment intertwine and showcased in unique handmade pieces inspired by resilience and intuition. Each creation serves as a vessel of expression, capturing the essence of nature's beauty and the inner strength within every man and woman.
Each piece is meticulously crafted with ethically sourced gemstones, reflecting my commitment to sustainability. I use recycled sterling silver and pre-loved gold to ensure that each creation embodies both beauty and an eco-conscious spirit.
INSPIRATION
My designs are deeply rooted in the intricate connection between people and nature. I draw inspiration from the organic shapes, textures, and colors found in the natural world, infusing each piece with the raw beauty of the earth. I use ethically sourced semi-precious stones such as mother of pearl, opal, abalone, turquoise, and freshwater pearls.
Celebrating the intuitive nature of women, I channel my inner wisdom and strength into my creations. 'La Loba' is the Spanish feminine for wolf and is inspired by the book, *Women Who Run With the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype* by Clarissa Pinkola Estés. The Wolf Woman connects with her instinctual self to foster her creative spirit. You might identify with some La Loba qualities: innovative, soulful, outcast, inspired, creative, psychic, intuitive.
CRAFTMANSHIP
Each piece of jewelry at La Loba is meticulously handcrafted with care and attention to detail. I utilize traditional metalsmith techniques such as soldering, forging, carving, stone setting, and sand casting to manipulate metals into wearable art. My journey began as a passion and hobby and since, I have taken online classes, watched countless tutorials, and read a plethora of books to refine my skills. I participate in local art fairs and pop-ups throughout the Detroit area and my work is showcased in boutiques.
MISSION
My mission is to empower men and women through art and self-expression. I strive to create jewelry that enhances unique qualities while fostering a sense of empowerment and confidence within every wearer. My goal is to embrace the synergy of nature’s elements intertwined with the craftsmanship of a self-taught metalsmith.
At La Loba, I honor the unique journey of every person, creating jewelry that resonates with the inner power that lies within. Explore my collection and adorn yourself with pieces that mirror the strength, intuition, and uniqueness that define you. Let's celebrate the timeless connection between people and the world’s inherent beauty, reflected in every piece of handmade jewelry I create.
